Hockey Alberta Super Skills Camp - EDMONTON

Hockey Alberta/Hockey Canada is happy to bring back a core program toEdmonton August 4th - 8th. This camp is for both male and female players born in 2003-2006.

This week long Super Skills Camp will be instructed by Hockey Alberta and Hockey Canada trained instructors. This camp is open to all male and female athletes born in 2003-2006 and will be grouped according to age and skill level. Parents can drop off their athletes at the CAC Arena located at 14640 142 street NW Edmonton at 8:30am and pick them up around 3pm as Hockey Alberta group leaders will fully supervise each group daily. This camps focus will be individual skill development and physical literacy on and off the ice. Each athlete will get a total of 10 on ice and 10 off- ice sessions a Hockey Alberta jersey, and Hockey Alberta issued athletic shirts and shorts. On ice sessions will cover Skating, Puck Control, Passing, Shooting and much MORE!   As for the off- ice sessions, they will cover and engage in a wide variety of activities that will support Balance, Reaction Time, Agility, Coordination, Explosive Power, Speed, all based around the principles of Hockey Canada’s Long-Term Player Development Model. The off-ice will also incorporate other sports to promote a more well-rounded and complete athlete. All off-ice instructors will be experts in their individual field.  Finally the Super Skills Camp will focus on Team Building and most importantly, FUN!

Program Overview

The outline for this program is as follows:

-          10 on-ice skill development sessions with small area games, stations and game transferable skills as the focus. Will have specific sessions dedicated to Power Skating, Puck Control/Passing, Shooting and Scoring as well as Small Area Games all in a fun atmosphere.

-         10 off-ice development sessions – we will be incorporating other sports as a means to develop more well-rounded athletes which will lead to success on the ice. Also included in the off-ice will be team building. All off-ice sessions will be instructed by experts in their specific fields.

-          An educational parents sessions on Long Term Player Development and really what that means and how you as a parent can be a factor in your athlete’s development. (if we have enough parents at the rink, if not I will send a powerpoint out)

-          Participants will also receive work out shirts and shorts as well a Hockey Alberta jersey.

I hope to see you all make one of these camps as we will work on skills and techniques that are often missed that with practices in Winter and Spring teams and really incorporate fun and growing the love for the game into every session.
